Pan Pacific Aggregates has completed an extensive program of helicopter airborne geophysics over the most geologically favourable portions of the Sechelt property. Utilizing the DIGHEM system operated by Fugro Airborne Surveys, 720 line kilometres of magnetometer and 7 channel electromagnetic (resistivity) surveys were flown at 125 metre line spacing. The system was operated at approximately 30 metres above ground surface and sample frequency returned data points at approximately 3 metre spacings along the lines.
The final report from Fugro is expected at the end of March, and the preliminary survey results look very promising. Carbonate rocks and skarn (garnet/wollastonite) areas showed distinct signatures in both magnetic susceptibility and electrical conductivity of these rocks. These signatures have allowed us to extend known areas of mineralization and identify several new areas with excellent exploration potential.
Exploration programs for 2006 will follow up and assess the airborne results with geological mapping and ground geophysics in selected areas, to further define geological contacts, and core drilling to assess mineral quality and quantity.
