PPA has a responsibility to protect, reclaim and enhance the environment. We encourage environmental stewardship and will diligently work to achieve this goal. We are committed to ensuring that environmental effects are addressed, that controls and plans are in place to ensure environmental protection for future generations and that the sustainability of nearby communities is safeguarded.

PPA is currently beginning Environmental Impact Studies in preparation for the submission of an Environmental Assessment application. The Company will be undergoing a full British Columbia Environmental Assessment as well as the Canadian Environmental Assessment at the Comprehensive Study level. These all-inclusive processes will take approximately eighteen months to complete and includes public consultation at several steps in the process.

The pre-application, to begin the environmental assessment process, has been submitted to the Environmental Assessment Office. Application documents may be found on their website at: http://www.eao.gov.bc.ca/epic/output/html/deploy/epic_project_doc_list_271_p_pro.html

As part of PPA's consultation the Company has undertaken a series of voluntary Open Houses and an Open Forum. This process will continue at regular intervals.

In addition, the regulatory process includes formal public comment periods for the Project Scoping Document, the Project Application and the Comprehensive Study Report. PPA will hold a final open house during the 30 day public comment period after filing the Environmental Application. This final open house will likely be in January 2007.
